I photographed this cottontail rabbit foraging on wild plants outside my home in Phoenix, Maryland. To get this shot I slowly moved closer to the rabbit while taking images at incremental distances. I managed to get as close as about 20 feet without creating a disturbance. Then I took multiple images while trying to remain inconspicuous and manually focusing with a long telephoto lens. It was enjoyable to spend some time observing this cottontail feeding on plants and wild strawberry fruits. After awhile I slowly moved away and left this rabbit to its activities.
