When I visited New Orleans I did not know what to expect, but quickly found it to be a city full of character and a fun vibe. I found many interesting photographic subjects while I was there, and one evening was particularly conducive to good images due to the blanket of fluffy clouds that developed overhead. I took this image while walking from my hotel toward the French Quarter. Standing next to one of the tall skyscrapers, I pointed the camera skyward and included several of the tall buildings in the composition, as well as the beautiful sky. I think the perspective of this image highlights the massive scale of these towering structures, reminding me of trees stretching toward the sky.
