This was the last image I captured on Pelican Beach on this particular evening. I had photographed the incredible sunset that had taken place shortly before, and there was still good color in the sky even 30 minutes or so after sunset. With the help of my sister and brother-in-law, we took two conch shells that were lying on the beach and set them by the water’s edge to produce a nice composition. I had no idea how these images would turn out, but I was very pleasantly surprised when I took a look at this shot on my computer later that night and spent awhile taking in the subtle and captivating scene. Sometimes everything works out and the light, color, and composition all come together to produce a perfect shot.
