This evening at the famous Tunnel View at Yosemite National Park provided one of the most spectacular scenes I have ever seen. It was my first visit ever to this vista overlook, and I was astonished at the natural beauty of the view. I arrived a couple hours before sunset and the light was illuminating part of the scene with a golden hue, while some of the landmarks and clouds cast shadows, giving the image a three dimensional quality with high degree of tonal range. There were many other photographers there to witness and photograph the scene; in fact it was hard to get a spot at one section of the overlook (which they must have believed gave the best view). In order to obtain a higher resolution image, I combined a set of vertical exposures. This particular shot is a nine image panoramic and has close to 14,000 pixels along its longest dimension. I stayed on until after the sun had set and the stars came out, then returned again before sunrise the next morning.
