My house while growing up, and currently the home of my mom, this place is not just a convenient location for taking images, but also often offers great opportunity for photos of flowers and wildlife. There are many deer that roam in the woods on our, and the adjoining, properties. We often also see raccoons, foxes, and various species of birds, such as the impressive pileated woodpecker. On more rare occasions we have seen possums, wild turkeys, a snowy owl, a coyote, and have heard barred owls in the woods at night with their unusual monkey-like calls. Snowfall makes for the most striking scenery, and a favorite activity of mine is walking or snowboarding through the snow around the house. The lack of leaves on the trees during the winter months allows for a view of the setting sun, sometimes shining a sparkling golden light off the top crust of diamond-like snowflakes after a recent snowfall. A full moon creates an almost daytime brightness on a snowy landscape, with silhouettes of the barren trees laying on the snow’s surface. All of the images shown here were taken on the property.
